Maruti Suzuki slashes car prices by up to ₹1.29 lakh after GST cut to benefit customers

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, announced a sweeping price reduction across its portfolio, cutting vehicle prices by up to ₹1.29 lakh to pass on the benefit of the GST rate cut to customers.

MUMBAI : According to the company’s regulatory filing, the entry-level models will see some of the sharpest price drops. The S-Presso will become cheaper by up to ₹1,29,600, while the Alto K10 will see a reduction of up to ₹1,07,600. Other small cars such as the Celerio, Wagon-R, and Ignis will also see price cuts ranging from ₹71,300 to ₹94,100.

Among the premium hatchbacks, the Swift will be cheaper by up to ₹84,600 and the Baleno by ₹86,100. The popular sedan Dzire will see a reduction of up to ₹87,700.

SUVs and larger models are also part of the markdown. The Fronx will get a cut of up to ₹1,12,600, the Brezza up to ₹1,12,700, and the Grand Vitara up to ₹1.07 lakh. The Jimny will see a price drop of ₹51,900, while the Ertiga and XL6 MPVs will be reduced by ₹46,400 and ₹52,000 respectively.
