Xylem founder Dr. Ananthu steps into Malayalam cinema with new production house

KOZHIKODE : Dr. Ananthu S, the 29-year-old founder and CEO of Xylem Learning, has made his debut in the Malayalam film industry with the launch of his own production banner, Dr. Ananthu Entertainments. The company’s logo was unveiled at a ceremony in Calicut on Saturday.

Widely recognised for transforming Kerala’s education landscape through his “edutainment” approach, Dr. Ananthu described filmmaking as a natural extension of his creative journey. “This move is about expanding my space of imagination and exploring new ways of expression,” he said at the launch.

The new banner has already lined up six Malayalam projects, including several high-budget ventures. Official announcements on the films covering cast, crew, and production schedules are expected in the coming weeks.

An MBBS graduate from Alappuzha, Dr. Ananthu has become a household name in education. His Xylem Learning platform today serves more than 10 million online users, one million app subscribers, and 30,000 offline learners, guiding school students and aspirants for competitive exams across India.

With his latest foray into cinema, Dr. Ananthu is looking to combine creativity with storytelling on a much larger canvas marking a new chapter in his journey from classrooms to silver screens.
