MUMBAI : Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra has rewritten box office history, emerging as the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam film within just 23 days of its release.

The fantasy epic, directed by Dominic Arun and led by Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, and Sunny Wayne, has collected more than ₹266 crore worldwide, surpassing the record previously held by Mohanlal’s Empuraan (₹266.81 crore).

The film has been enjoying strong momentum at the box office even in its fourth week, with additional shows being added to meet audience demand. Industry trackers noted that Lokah crossed the ₹200 crore milestone within two weeks, and by Day 23 its overseas earnings alone stood at ₹111.80 crore, highlighting its wide international appeal.

Trade analysts predict that the film is on course to breach the ₹300 crore mark in the coming weeks, cementing its position not just as a Malayalam blockbuster but as a landmark in Indian cinema.

While reports suggest Netflix is likely to acquire the film’s digital rights, the makers have yet to confirm its streaming release. For now, theatres across Kerala and abroad continue to witness packed houses as Lokah rides an unprecedented wave of popularity.
