MUMBAI : Amazon is planning a major expansion of its quick-commerce service Amazon Now across India, targeting 100 cities as it seeks a bigger share of the country’s fast-growing instant delivery market.

In a statement, the e-commerce giant said it aims to scale its logistics network to more than 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs), enabling deliveries of essential goods within minutes and strengthening its presence in the highly competitive quick-commerce segment.

Amazon Now is currently available in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru. The company said the service will be gradually rolled out to additional cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Meerut, Mysore and Panipat.

The expansion comes as India’s quick-commerce sector sees intensifying competition, with major players racing to improve delivery speeds and deepen reach beyond metro markets.
