DUBAI : At the first Cabinet meeting of the new government season, held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed announced the adoption of the economic clusters policy, designed to group industries, services, and institutions of similar nature at a national level. The policy aims to capitalise on the competitive strengths of each emirate, strengthen sectoral capabilities, and open pathways to global markets.
According to projections, the policy will contribute over Dh30 billion annually to the nation’s GDP, bolstering the UAE’s standing as a global economic leader.
The Cabinet also approved the agenda of the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for November 4–6 in Abu Dhabi, which will bring together 500 senior officials to focus on priority areas such as education, healthcare, national identity, economy, and artificial intelligence applications.
In line with environmental commitments, the Cabinet endorsed an updated National Plan to Reduce Aviation Sector Emissions and reviewed progress on the National Environment Policy and National Air Quality Agenda 2031. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, noting: “Preserving the environment will remain a central pillar of the UAE’s sustainable development journey.”
Additional approvals included the reconstitution of the Boards of Trustees of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, the UAE Council for Digital Economy, and the Entrepreneurship Council. The Cabinet also authorised the signing of 85 international agreements and the hosting of 12 specialised global events.
