NEW DELHI: India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took another step forward in strengthening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as senior officials met in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held discussions with Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Special Envoy for India, reviewing the wide-ranging cooperation between the two nations.

The talks underscored the multi-faceted nature of the India–UAE relationship, spanning trade and investment, defence and security, technology, energy, education, and culture. Both sides also highlighted the importance of deepening people-to-people ties, a cornerstone of the partnership that has flourished in recent years.

India and the UAE share a robust economic relationship, with the UAE ranking among India’s top trading partners. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in 2022, has already accelerated bilateral trade flows and opened new investment opportunities across key sectors.

With energy collaboration, fintech innovation, and cross-border investments high on the agenda, the latest meeting reflects the shared commitment of New Delhi and Abu Dhabi to further expand strategic cooperation in line with their long-term growth visions.
