Bihar govt to pay ₹1,000 monthly aid to unemployed graduates

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that the Bihar government will now provide ₹1,000 per month as financial assistance to unemployed graduates.

BIHAR : The financial assistance to unemployed graduates is for a period of two years under the Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayta Bhatta Yojana.

Until now, the scheme benefited only those who had completed their intermediate education. With the new expansion, graduates in arts, science, and commerce will also be eligible.

Sharing the update on social media, Kumar said the decision is part of the state government’s seven resolves programme. “The Self-Help Allowance Scheme, which was earlier being provided to intermediate-passed youth, has now been extended to unemployed graduate youth,” he posted.

The move is aimed at providing short-term relief to educated jobseekers while they explore employment opportunities. The allowance will be given for two years to each eligible candidate.
