Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the new agreements mark a “framework for constructive cooperation and institutional relations” between the two countries, noting that both sides are committed to elevating bilateral engagement across critical sectors. He added that the talks placed strong emphasis on strengthening trade and cultural ties, along with academic collaboration, as both nations look to unlock new opportunities for their people.
Highlighting a key economic target, Sharif announced that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to raise their bilateral trade volume to $200 million, describing it as a realistic and mutually beneficial goal.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov hailed Pakistan as an “important partner,” praising its rapid economic development, dynamic growth trajectory and ambitious infrastructure projects. He said discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, economy, investment, transport, logistics, education and science, sectors the two nations believe hold strong potential for joint growth.
President Japarov also welcomed the convening of a Pakistan–Kyrgyzstan Business Forum and stressed the importance of establishing a Kyrgyz-Pakistani Business Council, which he said would serve as a vital platform for facilitating deeper business-to-business connections and accelerating investment flows.
