Rajasthan Royals have announced that legendary cricketer and mentor Rahul Dravid will step down as head coach ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).

MUMBAI : The Royals confirmed the news on Saturday, marking the conclusion of Dravid’s tenure that has been defined by his steady leadership, guidance, and influence on a generation of players. The franchise credited him with instilling values of discipline, resilience, and commitment, leaving what it called “an indelible mark on the culture of the franchise.”

As part of a recent structural review, Dravid was offered a broader role within the Royals’ management, but he declined the position. The team respected his decision and underscored the immense contributions he made during his time at the helm.

Fans and players alike expressed deep gratitude for Dravid’s role in shaping the Royals’ identity, with the franchise’s statement reading: “We extend our sincere thanks to Rahul for his remarkable contribution to the franchise.”
