Google, PayPal join forces to redefine digital commerce with AI-powered payments

Google and PayPal have announced a multi-year strategic partnership to deliver innovative digital commerce solutions.

WASHINGTON : The collaboration aims to establish new benchmarks in the digital economy by combining Google’s expertise in artificial intelligence and global scale with PayPal’s extensive payments infrastructure.

Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai noted that the partnership would allow PayPal to leverage Google’s cutting-edge AI to enhance its services and security, while further integrating PayPal’s payment capabilities into Google’s suite of products and platforms.

PayPal President and CEO Alex Kris emphasized the global significance of the alliance, saying it would create greater opportunities for merchants and users by bringing PayPal’s products and services to billions of Google users.

The agreement covers key areas of cooperation, including the development of AI-powered shopping experiences and the introduction of new standards for smart commerce. PayPal solutions such as Hyperwallet, PayPal Payouts, and PayPal Enterprise Payments will be integrated into various Google services, including Google Cloud, Google Ads, and Google Play.

Additionally, PayPal will collaborate with Google Cloud to modernize its infrastructure, fueling the creation of a next-generation commerce and payments platform.
