SpaceX boosts global internet reach with launch of 25 new Starlink satellites

Falcon 9 rocket deploys 25 Starlink satellites, enhancing internet connectivity in remote regions worldwide.

WASHINGTON : The satellites were carried aboard a Falcon 9 rocket that lifted off from Vandenberg Space Center in California. According to the company, the launch proceeded as planned, with the rocket’s first stage returning to Earth and landing successfully on a SpaceX-operated droneship stationed at sea.

The rocket’s upper stage continued its mission, deploying the 25 satellites into their predetermined orbit approximately nine minutes after takeoff.

With this latest mission, the total number of active Starlink satellites in orbit has risen to 9,628. The growing constellation is designed to deliver high-speed broadband internet to remote and underserved regions across the globe, particularly areas with limited or no traditional connectivity.

Starlink services are also increasingly being used by airlines and supported smartphones, reflecting the expanding role of satellite-based internet in both commercial and consumer applications.
