Oman’s 10th five-year development plan met 97% of its targets and programs by mid-2024, underscoring progress in the sultanate’s push to diversify its economy away from hydrocarbons, Finance Minister Sultan Al Habsi said.

Speaking at the Together Forward forum, Al Habsi said the economy recorded average growth of 3.4% during the plan period, while non-oil activities expanded by 4.1%, highlighting the increasing role of sectors outside energy in driving growth.

The performance provides a platform for the upcoming 11th five-year plan, which will focus on identifying priority economic sectors capable of sustaining growth, creating jobs for citizens and improving income levels, the minister said.
