LONDON : Dubbed the “Tech Prosperity Deal”, the agreement was unveiled as President Trump arrived for his second state visit, which will include a royal welcome at Windsor Castle hosted by King Charles. The deal underscores transatlantic cooperation in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, quantum research, and civil nuclear energy, with Britain pitching itself as a hub for next-generation innovation.

Under the pact, Microsoft alone will invest £22 billion to expand cloud and AI infrastructure, including the construction of Britain’s largest AI supercomputer in Loughton, north-east London. Chipmaker Nvidia announced it will deploy 120,000 GPUs across the UK—its biggest rollout in Europe, while also partnering with UK-based Nscale and OpenAI on the ambitious Stargate project.

Google pledged £5 billion, including a new data centre in Waltham Cross and further funding for DeepMind, its London-based AI research arm. CoreWeave, Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, Oracle, BlackRock, Scale AI, and AI Pathfinder also unveiled new UK commitments ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of pounds.

Turkish-born tech leaders and global executives hailed the agreement as transformative. Nvidia’s David Hogan declared the pact would make the UK “an AI maker, not an AI taker,” while Microsoft’s Satya Nadella called the U.S. a “trusted tech partner” for Britain.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, under pressure to revive the economy after years of sluggish growth, said the pact could “shape the future of millions” while securing Britain’s role as a global investment destination. By aligning with Washington’s light-touch regulatory approach rather than the EU’s more restrictive model, London aims to attract further U.S. tech capital.
