

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Chennithala said the reform is centred on improving public interaction at police stations, which he described as the first point of contact for most citizens seeking police assistance.
The minister said police personnel have been instructed to strengthen public relations and ensure a more people-centric approach in their day-to-day functioning. He added that the initiative is intended to transform police stations into accessible, service-oriented institutions that inspire public confidence.
Chennithala said the government believes the reforms will help eliminate custodial crimes by promoting transparency, accountability and a people-friendly policing culture.
