ANDHRA PRADESH : Royal Enfield, the premium motorcycle arm of Eicher Motors, announced on Thursday that it plans to invest nearly ₹22 billion ($232.24 million) to establish a new manufacturing facility in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The project will be developed in two phases, with the first phase expected to be completed by 2029, while the second phase is targeted for completion by 2032.

Once operational, the new facility is expected to add around 900,000 units to Royal Enfield’s existing annual production capacity of nearly 1.46 million units, as recorded at the end of February.

The investment also represents Royal Enfield’s first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu, where the company’s current production operations are based.

According to the company, the project is expected to generate nearly 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing a significant boost to employment and industrial activity in Andhra Pradesh.

The state has increasingly emerged as a preferred investment destination, attracting major projects from companies such as Google, Reliance Industries, and Adani Group in recent years.
