MUSCAT : Oman has unveiled a series of landmark initiatives aimed at reinforcing its position as a premier global investment hub. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion announced the launch of the Golden Residency Program for investors, the Outstanding Companies Initiative, and a new digital service for transferring commercial registrations through the Oman Business platform.

The announcements were made during the “Sustainable Business Environment” forum, held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Centre for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

The Golden Residency Program is designed to attract long-term investors by offering greater stability and opportunities for growth in line with Oman’s vision of becoming a leading global destination for capital and innovation.

Meanwhile, the Outstanding Companies Initiative will provide a package of incentives, facilities, and government support to high-performing Omani firms, enabling them to scale up operations, compete globally, and represent Oman as national champions in international markets.

In addition, the introduction of the digital commercial registration transfer service marks a major step toward creating a fully digitalized business ecosystem. The system, based on secure electronic authentication, is expected to streamline procedures, cut processing times, and reduce costs for investors.

Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Dohani, Director General of Planning at the Ministry and Head of its Digital Transformation Team, said these measures reflect Oman’s determination to build a stable, competitive, and innovation-driven business environment. “The initiatives will enhance global competitiveness, accelerate digital transformation, and create sustainable opportunities for both investors and local companies,” he noted.

As part of the event, cooperation agreements were signed with Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology, the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), and Binaa Professional Services. These partnerships aim to modernize the construction sector, strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, nurture national talent, and drive innovation in line with sustainable growth objectives.

Al Dohani stressed that the ministry’s broader strategy is centered on economic diversification, empowering Omani companies with strong growth potential, and fostering deeper partnerships between government and the private sector. “Integrating knowledge, innovation, and business excellence is essential to building a competitive economy aligned with Oman Vision 2040,” he added.
