Dubai: The new hub will equip regional content creators with the tools, skills, and expertise to build sustainable careers and expand the reach of Arabic content globally.
The initiative, unveiled by the UAE Government Media Office on Friday, is part of the nation’s vision to strengthen its position as a hub for digital innovation and the creator economy.
The Academy will provide creators with advanced training in analytics, monetisation strategies, and community building, alongside direct access to YouTube experts. “This new Academy will help creators secure a stable and sustainable future in the digital sphere,” said Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1Billion Followers Summit.
Creators HQ, a content hub affiliated with Visioneers, said the Academy aims to raise the quality and diversity of digital content while enabling creators to thrive on YouTube. The program will include a series of workshops and specialised courses, with future plans to train creators in artificial intelligence tools and amplify Arabic content worldwide.
The move comes amid rapid YouTube growth in the region. As of May 2024, the platform reached more than 20 million users in Saudi Arabia and 7.5 million in the UAE aged 18 and above. The number of UAE-based channels earning over seven figures annually in local currency has grown by 15% year-on-year, while Saudi Arabia and Egypt recorded even faster expansion.
