DUBAI : Announced under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the endowment district represents a landmark effort to ensure continuous charitable giving. The project’s proceeds will directly support healthcare and educational development globally, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a hub of humanitarian innovation and generosity.
The district, designed as a perpetual charitable endowment, will include a hospital capable of serving 90,000 patients annually, a medical university, and schools accommodating more than 5,000 students. It will also feature residential buildings with 2,000 housing units, a boulevard, and endowment-owned retail outlets, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that funds global welfare initiatives.
Sheikh Mohammed announced the project through his official X account, expressing gratitude for the collective spirit of giving that defines the UAE. “Thanks God, we have launched an endowment project worth Dh4.7 billion, whose proceeds will go towards supporting health and education projects around the world,” he wrote.
He extended appreciation to all philanthropic endowers, supporters, and contributors, particularly Azizi Developments, for their commitment to advancing good and ensuring its continuity in what he described as “the nation of generosity and giving.”
