FLORIDA : US President Donald Trump has called on Russia and Ukraine to halt the ongoing conflict, urging both sides to stop fighting and return to their families. Speaking after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said the goal was to save lives and end the bloodshed that continues daily on the front lines.
He proposed that both countries stop fighting along existing battle lines to simplify peace efforts and prevent further loss of life. Trump added that NATO is covering the cost of ammunition and military supplies, saying the focus should now shift toward humanitarian relief and saving lives rather than continuing the war effort.
The US President also highlighted First Lady Melania Trump’s concern for children affected by the conflict, noting her efforts to draw attention to their suffering.
During the remarks, Trump claimed that India would no longer purchase oil from Russia, while acknowledging Hungary’s dependence on a single pipeline due to its inland position.
He confirmed that further discussions involving Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy are being planned, describing progress toward peace as positive and ongoing.
