TEHRAN : In a press statement issued by the Iranian presidency, Pezeshkian said the discussions were held with the support of friendly governments and reflected Iran’s long-standing commitment to dialogue. He added that Iran’s position on the nuclear file is firmly grounded in the rights guaranteed under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Echoing this stance, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that any ambiguity surrounding Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme can be addressed through diplomacy. “If there is any ambiguity regarding the objectives of the Iranian peaceful nuclear program, we will provide the answer and remove this ambiguity, and the only way to do that is through diplomacy,” he stated.
Araghchi further noted that Iran has paid a heavy price to secure a peaceful nuclear programme and its right to uranium enrichment, stressing that this cost has been proportionate to the country’s needs. He underscored that enrichment and peaceful nuclear activities are essential to Iran’s development, supporting sectors such as agriculture and healthcare, while also ensuring future nuclear fuel requirements and the operation of nuclear power plants.
